Case, Crown and Sapphire Crystal: 34mm 904L Steel Build
The Air-King 14000 Super Clone uses a 34mm Oyster case measuring 11.2mm thick, machined from 904L stainless steel for corrosion resistance and long-term polish retention. The smooth domed bezel sits flush against the case middle, holding the clean dress-sport balance the Air-King line has carried since 1957. Lug-to-lug spans 41mm, which keeps the watch comfortable on wrists from 6.0 to 7.5 inches.
Case Finishing and Surface Treatment
Brushed surfaces run across the top of the lugs and the outer bracelet links. Polished accents frame the case sides, the bezel face, and the bracelet center links. The transition between satin and polish on the lugs follows the period-correct geometry of the 1989 to 2001 14000 production window. The white dial draws extra attention to the case finishing because the bright dial reflects directly onto the polished bezel edge.
Twinlock Crown, Caseback and Water Resistance
The Twinlock screw-down crown threads home with the tactile click that signals full closure, sealing the watch to 100 meters of water resistance. The screwed-down Oyster caseback uses twin gaskets at the crown stem and back plate. The case interior includes a soft-iron carrier that shields the movement from low-grade magnetic fields encountered in daily wear, a feature the Air-King inherited from the predecessor 5500.
Flat Sapphire Crystal
The flat sapphire crystal succeeded the acrylic crystal of the predecessor 5500, delivering scratch resistance under daily wear. The crystal sits flush with the bezel rim, with no anti-reflective coating, matching the genuine 14000 specification. The uncoated sapphire surface lets the glossy white dial read with bright clarity at every viewing angle.
